I have been to several book stores over the past two days, so I’m fairly stocked up. I tend to read several books at a time, and right now, I’m working on reading (among several others) The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, American Psycho, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: 2 Fuzzy, 2 Furious, and You Are a Badass Every Day.
I had heard about the first one and read reviews online. It is supposed to be absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to dive into the meat and potatoes of it.
American Psycho is not what I was expecting. It is so much better! I love the stream-of-consciousness style. Everything is so detached and filled with ennui. Absolutely fantastic.
I love Squirrel Girl and reading about her exploits in novel form is a nice treat. You get a little bit more of a sense for the character. You fall in love with her a little deeper.
I read Jen Sincero’s other Badass books and am reading this one much more slowly. I’m savoring the motivational sections and reading them daily. This is just the kind of pick in the pants I need from time to time.
Let me know if you want a full review of any of these, or if you have recommendations for me.
