ARC Review: The T in LGBT: Everything You Need to Know About Being Trans

I was so excited to receive this book as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC)! I was excited when Jamie Raines, AKA Jammidodger on YouTube, announced this book on his channel. I was excited when I saw it was available to request on NetGalley. I’ve just been very excited about this book, but did it live up to the hype?

YES!

Part memoir, part practical guide, this book goes into every aspect of being trans from discovery to transitioning to coming out. It isn’t just the author’s perspective, either. It features quotes from various trans people, including where they fit in under the large trans umbrella: trans men and women, trans mascs and femmes, nonbinary, and everything in between.

In the harder sections, like dealing with the decision to and fallout from coming out, this book feels like a hug. This book does in 256 pages what many books cannot, it makes you feel seen and heard.

This isn’t just for those who are or think they might be trans either. It features helpful tips for allies and seeks to educate the reader.

5 of 5 stars

The T in LGBT is out now wherever books are sold.

Thank you so much to Sourcebooks (Nonfiction) and NetGalley for providing this book to me free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
