The Book of Doors
I just finished The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown, and… WOW!!!
This book is a magical realism/ adult fantasy book that boasts 416 pages in the hardcover edition. The premise is simple: some books are magic and let you do amazing things. And, because of that, some people will do anything to get their hands on them.
Cassie Andrews is a young adult living in NYC and working in a bookstore when a friendly patron gifts her The Book of Doors. Any door is every door, it says.
Through concentration, she can open any door she can imagine and others want this power, too. Dangerous people want to do ill with it like they do with their own magic books like The Book of Shadows or The Book of Pain.
Fast-paced and expertly written, this book takes you on a journey and doesn’t let up until the very end. I cannot recommend this book enough. 5/5 Stars!
