Weyward Review

Weyward by Emilia Hart is a 416-page book that follows 3 POVs spread out through time:

1619 - Altha Weyward is accused of being a witch and must stand trial for her supposed crime.

1942 - Violet Ayres is a nature-minded wild child being forced into the role of a young lady.

2019 - Kate Ayres is a modern woman on the run from an abusive marriage.

It’s supposed to be a tale of three women overcoming adversity and finding themselves in their innate powers, but this magical realism novel fell flat. I wanted to like this one, but I found myself skimming through it and just trying to get through. It wasn’t unreadable, but it wasn’t enjoyable either.

3 Stars.
