Assistant to the Villain
This book was amazing! I bought it based on the title alone, but it hooked me in and dragged me on an adventure that left me breathless and wanting more!
Evie Sage is going through a bad time. She just lost her job and passed up on another to help out someone in more dire straights than her. Very much in her feelings, she walks through the woods, contemplating her life.
Then she literally trips over The Villain, a shadowy figure of pure evil. He’s on the run from King Benedict’s Valliant Guards and drags her along. Then, he does the unthinkable and offers her a job.
All out of options, she accepts.
Assistant to the Villain packs a lot into its 340 pages, and the author, Hannah Nicole Maehrer keeps you entertained the whole way through. Part The Office, part who-done-it, this book will leave you wanting more.
Lucky for me, I already pre-ordered the sequel!
